Urinalysis Reagents
Multistix® 10 SG Reagent Strips
The Multistix® 10 SG reagent strip is the reliable frontline test for detection of a broad range of conditions, from detecting urinary tract infections (UTI1) to diabetes and kidney disorders. Accurately gain a broader clinical insight into a patient's health.

-
Reliable testing for UTI, diabetes, and kidney disorders
-
10 tests for important markers on a single strip
-
Combined leukocyte/nitrite results for better prediction of UTI with fewer false negatives

Features & Benefits

The Reliable Choice for Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Detection at the Frontline
A multicenter study was conducted to identify patients with potential UTIs. There were 1,887 urine specimens tested comparing the leukocyte and nitrite results of Multistix 10 SG urinalysis strips to urine culture.

-
Only 10-15% of urine cultures are confirmed positive.
-
The cost of urine culture is significantly higher compared to urine strip testing.
-
Combining the results of leukocyte (WBC) and nitrite is a better predictor of the presence or absence of urinary tract infection, than any one test parameter alone.
CLINITEK® Microalbumin 2 Reagent Strips
CLINITEK® Microalbumin 2 Strips provide albumin, creatinine and albumin-to-creatinine ratio results in one minute. The CLINITEK® Microalbumin product is useful to test for microalbuminuria in patients with diabetes or hypertension in order to detect early kidney disease. The strips are used on the CLINITEK Status® family of analyzers.

-
Albumin, creatinine, and albumin-to-creatinine ratio results to help identify clinically relevant microalbuminuria
-
Increased sensitivity of albumin as recommended by ADA guidelines: sensitivity as low as 2.0 mg/dL
-
Results are corrected for varying urine concentrations when used on the CLINITEK Status family of analyzers, replacing the need for 24-hour urine collection and measurement

Features & Benefits

CLINITEK® Microalbumin 2 Reagent Strips make it simple and easy to test patients with diabetes. Because testing for microalbuminuria can detect kidney disease in its early stages, physicians may begin intervention earlier than might otherwise have been possible. CLINITEK Microalbumin 2 Reagent Strips permit detection of elevated albumin sooner, more sensitively and more specifically than products designed for general protein testing.
The American Diabetes Association has stated that "Annual testing for microalbuminuria will allow identification of patients with nephropathy at a point very early in its course."
The CLINITEK Microalbumin 2 Reagent Strips provide semi-quantitative results with a hard-copy report on the CLINITEK Status® family of analyzers, making them ideal for point-of-care testing. Patient samples can be tested immediately during a physician, clinic or hospital visit, rather than sending them out and waiting for results. The strips are also convenient for testing random urine samples, eliminating the need to collect a timed sample.
The CLINITEK Microalbumin 2 Reagent Strips are CLIA-waived for use on the CLINITEK Status Family of Analyzers.
CLINITEK® Microalbumin 9 Reagent Strips
CLINITEK® Microalbumin 9 Urinalysis Reagent Strips provide some of the most appropriate tests for early indication of kidney disease for patients with diabetes, as well as for patients with established kidney disease. One urinalysis strip tests for Albumin, Blood, Creatinine, Glucose, Ketone, Leukocyte, Nitrite, pH, and Protein and also provides automatic calculation of Albumin-to-Creatinine (A:C) ratio as well as Protein-to-Creatinine (P:C) ratio results.

-
Accurate identification of microalbuminuria
-
Samples can be obtained randomly, no need for timed or 24-hour urine collections
-
Reliable estimates of urinary albumin and protein excretion
-
Reliable indications of normal or abnormal findings
-
Effectiveness and efficiency of each visit are maximized
-
Automatically timed and intepreted results, including ratios

Features & Benefits

Early detection and effective management of kidney disease

Albumin-to-Creatinine (A:C) ratio – Early detection of kidney disease in patients with diabetes
-
Microalbuminuria testing is recommended for early detection of kidney disease
-
False-negative and false-positive results are avoided by using A:C ratio testing for nephropathy instead of albumin measurement alone
-
Better prediction of kidney function decline with Albuminuria >300 mg/day
-
Early intervention may stop or reverse the process of kidney disease

Protein to Creatinine (P:C) ratio – Managing patients with kidney disease
-
Early detection and monitoring can prevent or delay chronic kidney disease
-
Proteinuria measurement helps to assess the effectiveness of therapy and progression of kidney disease
-
Higher P:C ratio levels are associated with an increased risk of end stage kidney disease

Nine necessary tests – Covering the continuum of care
-
Simple, rapid results at the point of visit
-
Results corrected for varying urine concentrations
-
Reliable and actionable information
-
Available on CLINITEK Status® and CLINITEK Advantus® instruments

Siemens Ictotest® Reagent Tablets
Ictotest® Reagent Tablets are used to test for the presence of bilirubin in urine. The presence of bilirubin is an important finding in the evaluation of liver function and a positive detection could be an indication of liver disease such as jaundice, cirrhosis or hepatitis. Hospital and laboratories rely on the quality of Siemens’ Ictotest reagent tablets to confirm bilirubin results prior to providing the results to their customers.

-
Ictotest Reagent Tablets were first made available in 1953
-
Use of Ictotest requires a dropper and distilled water, in addition to the absorbent mats and reagent tablets provided.
-
The test is easy to perform and gives timely and accurate confirmatory urine bilirubin results in one minute.
-
Level of detection ≥ 0.05 to 0.1 mg bilirubin/dL in urine (0.9–1.7 µmol/L).

Features & Benefits

Why is a confirmatory test necessary for urinary bilirubin? To date, there is no quantitative urine bilirubin test method on the market. The only way to rule out urine-strip false-positive bilirubin results is with a confirmatory assay such as Ictotest tablets. The alternative is for the healthcare professional to order a blood test for bilirubin, which adds cost and time to the confirmation process.
Use of Ictotest tablets require a pipette and distilled water, in addition to the absorbent mats and reagent tablets provided with the Ictotest kit. The procedure is easy to perform and gives reliable answers when a fresh urine specimen is used and the tablets are properly stored.
